You have the points.
You just can’t find the seat.
Most people who come to Le Travelogist have the same problem. They’ve accumulated a meaningful balance. They’ve done the reading. They understand what transfer partners are and what business class is supposed to cost in points.
But when they actually sit down to search — nothing comes up. Or what comes up doesn’t make sense. Or the seat is there one minute and gone the next. Or the program website returns an error.
This is not a knowledge problem. It’s a methodology problem. This guide solves it.
What’s Inside
Seven modules. One complete methodology.
The Blueprint walks you through the entire award search process — from understanding why seats are hard to find, to the specific tools and steps to find them, to real examples of what successful redemptions look like.
The Blueprint includes the main guide plus two companion tools — everything you need to go from searching to booking.
- Route Research Tracker — Companion WorksheetA fillable 2-page worksheet that walks you through all 7 steps of the search workflow for your specific trip. Fill it in as you search — route, dates, points balances, Roame results, Seat.aero cross-reference, CPP calculation, and final decision.
- Sweet Spot Quick Reference Card — Companion ToolA single landscape page summarising all sweet spots, partner relationships, CPP benchmarks, and search tools. Print it and keep it open while you search on Roame and Seat.aero.
- Module 1 — Why Business Class Awards Are Hard to FindHow airlines release award inventory, what booking classes mean, and why your search comes up empty even when seats are available.
- Module 2 — The Two Tools You NeedA full walkthrough of Roame.travel and Seat.aero — what each does, when to use which, and how to use them together for maximum results.
- Module 3 — The Search WorkflowA 7-step repeatable process for finding award space on any route, through any program, at any time of year.
- Module 4 — Partner AirlinesThe complete partner relationship map for Aeroplan, Avios, Flying Blue, Turkish Miles&Smiles, Amex MR, and Marriott Bonvoy — and the sweet spots each unlocks.
- Module 5 — Sweet Spots by ProgramThe specific redemptions that consistently deliver 5–10+ cents per point — with routes, point costs, and cash equivalents.
- Module 6 — Real ExamplesThree case studies showing the full search-to-booking process on actual redemptions including YYZ–LHR in Air Canada Signature Class and YVR–BKK in Thai Airways Royal Silk.
- Module 7 — When You’re StuckA troubleshooting framework for every scenario where the standard search process fails — and when to escalate to professional help.
From the Field
Real outcomes, real travellers.
“I had been sitting on 180,000 Aeroplan points for two years, convinced I’d never find business class availability to Europe. After working with Andre, I was on an Air Canada lie-flat seat to London within six weeks. The process he walked me through was completely different from what I’d been doing.”
Robert · Nova Scotia, CanadaRobert’s outcome — Qatar Qsuites to Doha and Air Canada Signature Class to London — is the kind of result this methodology is designed to produce. The Blueprint documents that exact process so you can replicate it yourself.

Questions
Frequently asked.
Do I need the Foundation Guide first?
The Blueprint assumes you understand what loyalty programs are, how transfer partners work, and basic redemption concepts. If you are new to points, start with the Foundation Guide ($19). If you already have that knowledge from other sources, the Blueprint works as a standalone.
Does this guide work for Canadian travellers?
Yes. The examples and sweet spots are weighted toward programs most relevant to Canadian travellers — Aeroplan, Avios, and Amex Membership Rewards feature prominently. The methodology works for any program and any route.
Do I need paid subscriptions to Roame or Seat.aero?
Both tools have free tiers that are sufficient for most searches. The Blueprint explains how to use both at the free level. Paid tiers offer additional features — alerts, more searches per day — but are not required to follow the methodology.
What if I get stuck after reading the guide?
The Blueprint includes a clear escalation path — from setting alerts and trying alternative programs, to booking a Flight Redemption Research session where we do the search on your behalf. Module 7 covers every stuck scenario in detail.
Is this guide updated regularly?
The methodology — the search workflow, partner relationships, troubleshooting framework — is stable. Specific sweet spots and point costs are accurate as of the publication date. Award charts and program terms change; always verify current rates directly with the program before transferring points.
What format does the guide come in?
Three PDF files — the main Blueprint guide, the Route Research Tracker worksheet, and the Sweet Spot Quick Reference Card. All three are delivered instantly to your inbox after purchase. No account required.
