The Educator Who Traveled.
The Traveler Who Taught.
Andre Battah Travel Educator · Travel Mentor · Travel Consultant Bangkok, Thailand · Canadian-British · Founder & CEO, Le Travelogist
My name is Andre Battah. I am a Canadian-British educator, strategist, and traveler — currently based in Bangkok after more than 25 years of living, working, and moving across the world.
I spent 20 years as a professional educator, specializing in Sports and Leisure Education. That background gave me something no amount of travel research alone could: an understanding of how to present complex information so that people feel empowered, not overwhelmed. How to structure knowledge so it builds rather than buries. How to meet someone where they are and bring them somewhere clearer.
I was also traveling. Extensively, persistently, and with genuine curiosity about everything I encountered — new cultures, unfamiliar rhythms, the way people behave differently depending on where they are in the world. I became fascinated not just by destinations, but by the systems that surround travel: how loyalty programs worked, how points accumulated, how some travelers consistently flew at the front of the plane while others couldn’t figure out which program was even worth joining.
I noticed something that genuinely bothered me. The information existed. But nobody was explaining it. Nobody was sitting down with a real traveler, looking at their specific situation, and walking them through it — clearly, honestly, and without an agenda. The forums were noisy. The YouTube channels were generic. The travel agents were booking, not teaching.
That intersection — twenty years of teaching, a decade of deep travel experience, and a clear gap in how travelers were actually being served — is where Le Travelogist began.
My Philosophy
How I think about travel.
The journey begins the moment you make the decision to leave your comfort zone. Everything that follows — the enthusiasm of new things, the awakening of senses you forgot you had, the fascination of watching how people behave differently across the world — that is the education.
I have carried this belief through two decades of teaching and a lifetime of traveling. It is the lens through which I approach every client engagement, every piece of research I produce, and every session I deliver. Travel, at its best, is not a transaction. It is a transformation. And my job is to make sure nothing gets in the way of that.
I will not tell you what to do until you understand why. Understanding what you have, what it is worth, and what it can realistically achieve — that comes first. Always.
My job is not to give you more information — it is to give you the right information, structured clearly, delivered without jargon and free of agenda. If I cannot explain something simply, I do not understand it well enough.
You have different programs, different goals, and a different timeline from anyone else I have worked with. I treat your situation as exactly that — yours. Generic advice is the enemy of good decisions.
My goal is not to make decisions for you. It is to give you the knowledge and the framework to make them yourself — confidently, correctly, and without the doubt that follows a poorly understood choice.
Areas of Expertise
What I am known for.
My work sits at the intersection of education and travel strategy. These are the domains where I have developed the deepest knowledge — and where I bring the most value to the travelers I work with.
Travel Education
Structured, clear, and genuinely useful guidance on how loyalty programs work, how points accumulate, and how to build a travel strategy around your specific situation — not somebody else’s goals or somebody else’s timeline.
Explore Services →Loyalty Program Strategy
Frequent flyer and hotel loyalty programs are among the most misunderstood financial tools available to travelers. I help people understand what they have, what it is worth, and how to use it with real intention.
Explore Services →Flight Redemption & Business Class
Finding award availability, navigating transfer partners, and booking Business Class without paying Business Class prices. This is where deep knowledge, genuine patience, and real expertise produce results others cannot find.
See Packages →Travel Mentoring
An ongoing advisory relationship for travelers who want a knowledgeable, trusted expert available throughout the year — not just at booking time. I think of this as a coaching relationship built entirely around your goals.
Learn More →Destination Intelligence
Once your flights are confirmed, the rest of the journey deserves equal attention. I research destinations, routing decisions, hotel options, and experiences so you arrive genuinely informed — not just optimistic.
Learn More →Guest Experience & Boutique Hotels
Twenty-five years of international living have given me a genuine eye for what makes accommodation truly exceptional. I help travelers move beyond mainstream booking toward experiences that reflect who they actually are.

Why I created Le Travelogist.
Travelers today have access to more travel information than at any point in history. And yet most of them feel more confused, not less.
I watched this happen for years. The internet is saturated with travel content — forums, blogs, YouTube channels, Facebook groups — all producing a volume of information that most travelers simply cannot sort through. What they needed was not more content. They needed someone to take that information and make it make sense for their specific situation.
Loyalty programs made this problem significantly worse. The major airline and hotel programs have grown enormously complex over the last decade — devaluations, category changes, dynamic pricing, shifting transfer partnerships — in ways that have made them feel inaccessible to all but the most dedicated enthusiasts. Many travelers are sitting on thousands, sometimes hundreds of thousands, of points they accumulated without ever understanding what to do with them.
The advice available online is generic by design. It has to be, because the person writing it has no idea who is reading it. But travel strategy is inherently personal. Your programs, your goals, your travel style, your timeline — these determine everything. An answer that works perfectly for one traveler may be entirely wrong for another.
I spent twenty years as an educator. I know how to take complexity and make it accessible. I know how to structure information so it builds understanding rather than layering confusion on top of confusion. I know how to sit with someone, understand where they actually are, and bring them somewhere clearer.
Le Travelogist exists because that combination — educational expertise applied directly to travel strategy — is what travelers were missing. Not another guide. Not another generic recommendation. A genuine educator who would take the time to understand their situation and help them make better, more confident decisions.
The Person Behind the Work
Beyond travel.
I have never been someone who travels to collect destinations. I travel because I am genuinely curious about how other people live — and what that curiosity does to my own thinking.
Twenty-five years of international living will do something to a person. I have lived and worked in places where I did not speak the primary language, where daily life operated by entirely different rules, and where the assumptions I arrived with stopped being useful almost immediately. That kind of experience changes how you see things in ways that are difficult to describe but very easy to feel.
I am a lifelong learner in the most literal sense. I read widely, I research obsessively, and I find genuine satisfaction in understanding how things work — whether that is the ecosystem of a loyalty program, the cultural logic of a place I have never visited, or the hospitality philosophy behind a hotel that does something quietly exceptional.
I am deeply interested in hospitality — not the industry concept of it, but the human one. The idea that how you make someone feel when they arrive somewhere matters enormously. That the difference between a good hotel and a genuinely memorable one is almost never the thread count — it is the quality of attention. That interest shapes how I work with clients, not just the recommendations I make.
I am also aware that I am the product of more than one culture — Canadian, British, and now shaped by years of life in Southeast Asia. That layered perspective is something I bring to every conversation about travel. The world looks different depending on where you have stood in it, and I have been fortunate enough to stand in quite a few places.
The Company I Founded
About Le Travelogist.
Le Travelogist is the travel education, mentoring, and consultancy company I founded to put a formal structure around what I had been doing informally for years.
The company exists to give travelers the structured knowledge they need to make confident decisions — about loyalty programs, flight redemptions, destinations, hotels, and everything that surrounds a well-considered journey. It offers education resources, personal advisory packages, and ongoing mentoring relationships built entirely around the individual traveler.
Le Travelogist carries the same philosophy I bring personally to every client engagement: education first, clarity always, personalization over generics. If you want to understand the company — its mission, its methodology, and who it is built to serve — the company page will tell you everything.
